A 20 Truths WTF

I'm annoyed.

Last year, I applied at 20_truths to claim Kiba/Hanabi. Then as luck would have it, it seemed as though the community had died right around that time (or at least the mods weren't responding to any of the claims anymore). I eventually wrote the fic on my own and posted it at my writing journal anyway. After checking back for a few months, I figured the comm dead for good. I was kinda sad because I liked the community's idea and would've wanted to claim other pairings or characters as well.

THEN just now as I was catching up on posts and such, I decided to check it on a whim to see what's become of the place. I trek over to the claims post and discovered that everyone else's claims were finally approved recently except for mine. They basically just skipped over my claim. WTF? Now I'm sitting here wondering if the mods hate me or something. Either that or they've decided that they won't approve me because I've already posted the fic at my journal and at ff.net (the rules didn't forbid it). But really, at least say something.

I'm really hoping it was just an honest mistake, because... well, freaking hells, I'm just annoyed.

Off topic: Two posts on the same day after almost three months of not updating- how about that?! xD

New Layout!

I think this journal of mine has been ugly long enough. :p The SO very awesome catch_22 bought me a paid account here the other day, and I just had to do something with it. Still fairly simple, which is the way I like it...but it looks tons better than that generic layout I had before so that's all that matters. View it! I'll need to tweak some other stuff later though- there's that little white border that's showing up on the right side of the layout for IE, but I'm too tired to dig into it right now. :p

I also went back and tagged everything too, which made me realize how little I really update this journal. That shall change! You shall hear me dribble nonsense until you want to kill me off your friends list! >_>;

Me loves Rachael. ;_;

Tenseiga

Help: Was it ever mentioned in Inuyasha that the Tenseiga can only be wielded by a full youkai? And if it was mentioned, do you happen to remember which manga chapter/volume it was covered in?

After some deliberation, I had decided to revive my Cycles of Destiny fanfic *gasp* from the dead even though it's been almost 4 years since I updated. And since I'm sorely behind in the series, I'm so not equipped to counter anyone's questions about certain aspects of the fic because...well, because I'm clueless. -_-;; So I'm on the process of revising and reposting the original 6 chapters...and this was one of the questions I got for my 2nd chapter:

I don't understand how he can use the sword of healing, I thought only a full youkai could, and that's why Inuyasha couldn't.

Anyone out there that's keeping up with Inuyasha- can you tell me if that's true?

My personal beliefs on the two swords in regards to their "barriers" have always been that it's not really blood/race specific...but rather an essence and the swords will then choose/accept its master accordingly. For example, the Tenseiga...didn't Toutousai always say that you must have compassion and the desire to save in order for the sword to accept its master? Same with the Tessaiga...I never really thought the barrier was about hanyou or full youkai blood, but rather about the will/desire/need to protect. If it's about blood, how would Inutaisho wield it- seeing that he's full youkai and all?

Note that I said my personal "beliefs"...that's because I had these beliefs long ago back when a whole lot wasn't yet mentioned about the swords, so they were more my theories than anything. But since I haven't kept up, these theories could've been shot to hell by Takahashi for all I know. :p Geh, I came back to this fic, telling myself that I would just write it according to how I had it planned without consideration to what's been covered later on...but I'm beginning to wonder if that's a good idea or not.
A little help for fanfic urges...?

Lately, I've taken to writing drabbles and fanfic snippets in an old battered notebook to kill time while commuting to/from work (that is, when I'm not falling asleep on the bus). It's kind of nice to get back into writing random stuff again- I miss having to write without really worrying about much. I wish PotW isn't currently giving me so much headache though...because it'd be nice to finish off that last 5% of chapter 19 so that I can update without waiting another year or something. >_>; I'm thinking of doing a cookie/drabble series project for PotW too, but I'll see. ^^;

But anyhow- my point (yes, I actually had one) is if any of you feel like chucking out unrefined ideas or some kind of fic challenge that I can tackle? I've been wanting to try my hand at different kinds of writing for different characters than the ones I've written before. Or something. I guess I just want something to mull over and daydream about while I'm commuting. All I've been writing is ShikaTema drabbles (some of which are posted at inkcanvas)...but I also want to write other stuff. I don't really know which of you are still reading fanfics or are interested in it enough to chuck out challenges at me, but I thought I'd ask anyway. ^^; Any pairing is fine, with the exception of yaoi/slash...just because I can't write those even if my life depended on it. -_-;; And obviously, it'd have to be from a fandom I'm familiar with though...like Naruto, Hana Yori Dango, NANA, or something like that. Or even for PotW. Whatever goes, I just want something to get my brain rolling. ^_^

On a completely irrelevant note, I just wanted to thank you for the responses you left for the last post. I didn't reply to them...because I couldn't formulate a reply to convey my thoughts in a proper way- but I wanted to let you know that the comments that were left brought a lot of peace for me. It calmed me down and made me step back a little to berate myself for being stupid again. *hugs you*

Nana + Takumi

I totally must pimp this fic by hydrogen. I found it yesterday at 1sentence since it was done for their challenge. Dun dun dun, it's a Komatsu Nana + Ichinose Takumi fanfic! Now, how rare is that? I mean, NANA fanfics are pretty much non-existent as it is...but a Nana/Takumi fic? *dies*

Chello, are you reading this? :DD See, we're not the only two people on earth who likes Nana/Takumi. ^_^

Ahhhh....

I MISS MY INTERNET!! *breathes* Now that I've gotten that out...I still don't have anything interesting to talk about. I had to be away from the internet for the past few weeks- and it was hard. T_T So for every free moment I have now, I'm running around trying to reply to emails and LJ comments, etc. ;_; Goodness, catching up is hell because it feels like I'd never finish the long list of backlogged stuff. So eee...for those of you who were waiting for a response from me about some thing or another, you'll hear from me very soon! :p

Other than that, I finally did add something to the writing journal I created for myself some weeks ago- and it's a NANA fic no less. *_* I saw the challenge prompt for (in parenthesis) yesterday and the next thing I knew, I got it written out in within 30 minutes. ^^; Yay for plotless and pointless slacking.

Anyhow...does anyone know the policy on writing fanfics inspired by fanart? Are you required to ask for permission if you happened across a fanart and want to write a fic based on the drawing? I'm really not very familiar with how the whole fanfiction community goes since I'm really one of those private writers...but I've kind of gotten curious with it all. :p

And now I'm going to go do some minor catching up with some overdue stuff before I crash for the night and continue with them plus the 1000+ emails tomorrow after work. Yes, I have over one thousand emails sitting in my inbox at the moment. Woe does not describe it. ;_;

It's rather late to be posting this...but I'm still cracking up everytime I think of this so I thought I'd share. xD

A conversation I had with a student on Valentine's Day:

Student Leo: Teacher Tea, are you going to find a boyfriend today?
Teacher Tea: No, Leo, I'm not going to find a boyfriend today.
Student Leo: Why teacher? You should find a boyfriend!
Teacher Tea: No, I'm not going to find him because I'm waiting for him to find me.
Student Leo: Haaah, you should not wait too long because you'll be too old and no one will want you!

Wonderful, isn't it? >_>; And btw, Leo's this student I have who's always asking me why I don't have a boyfriend. I swear he has some odd fascination about me and boyfriends. Everytime my phone rings and he hears it, he'd run over and ask me if it's my boyfriend calling even though he knows I don't have a boyfriend. *_*

Sacrificing Websites...

Lately, I've been seriously considering on closing down some of my websites within OwarinaiNET. Partially because they're so outdated and fairly useless now- not to mention how I barely have time to keep up with them these days. Mostly though, it's because I think I need to make the sacrifice to keep Colorfilter.net and my graphics work up- which is definitely my priority of my two domains. My bandwidth usage is increasing in a major way all the time- so at the rate I'm going...I don't think I'd be able to afford to host all of my sites. Sigh. :(

First to go, might be a few of my fanlistings- mostly because I think someone else might do a better job at keeping them updated with actual content. I haven't done much with some of my FL's and that's rather sad, because they deserve better. :p I'm considering on putting the Noir Series, Noir Music, and Kimura Takuya (actor/musician/model) up for adoption at the TAFL and TFL forums. Out of curiosity, is anyone particularly interested in taking them over? Thought I'd ask about it here first before I officially decide to put them up for adoption...

Ah, I'm rather sad at having to think about closing down any of my sites at all. :\

Uh...right.

*Live links edited out to prevent his site stats from leading back here

I the administrator of Jdownload.org. We are trying to bring together several Japanese Media related websites. Since you run a quality Kimura Takuya website, we would like you to transfer your website to our servers. We have already made two templates that you could choose from.

http://www.xxx.org/Templates/Kimura_Takuya1/index.html
http://www.xxx.org/Templates/Kimura_Takuya/index.html

We would help you integrate your site with the new template if you needed. Your web address would be http://www.xxx.org/~KimuraTakuya/. By joining our web site, you would get a link on our website. You would also get an improved website with fewer restrictions ( like file sizes ) and support to help you update your site. In exchange for this, we ask for only a few things. That you update the content regularly, and that you take down your current website and replace it with a link to your new website. We also reserve the right to place a link or two (small ones) on your website if we choose. I hope you will choose to become a partner of Jdownload.

Now tell me, why would anyone think I'd want to do something like that? And not that my layout looks all that great, especially with how old it is...but I think it still looks better than his templates. >_>; But that's besides the point. I'm just baffled by his proposal...made as though he'd be doing me a favor. Oh yes, great website! Now transfer it to our servers, close down yours, and link to us! Oh and don't forget, we reserve the right to put ads on your site so that we can earn money off your site. Wee!! x_x

Updates

I'm still not getting comment notifications. So if some of you had left me comments here or there and then didn't hear from me, it's most likely because I did not know you commented/replied/etc. =_=; If it's important and I missed you, leave me a message here...I'll be back to check this post often just in case. :p

Other than that, I've been so busy lately doing I don't know what. It's like all the little things crept up together all at once so I've been busier than usual. I'm thinking about withdrawing myself from some communities that I mod at because I don't think I'd do a good job if this goes on. I feel out of touch with most of you- so I'm really sorry if I haven't been around much as well. :(

That aside, look what I got as a little gift for updating my Pictures on the Wall fic! ^^ But yes, I still can't believe I actually updated Chapter 18 after over a year. I think I lost most of my readers though. I only have 2 new reviews. :p findingbliss, I don't know if you caught the update yet...but I thought of you while writing this chapter and if you've read it, then you know why. xD

One of these days, I'm going to make a real update with actual content. >_>;

LJ Annoyance & Internet Glitches

Am I the only one who's experiencing LJ glitches? First I haven't been able to log in for the entire week. And now that my connection is working, I find out that it seems I'm not getting about 85% of my email notifications. I haven't heard anyone else complaining so I don't know if it's just me or actually LJ being a real pain. -_-

On an off note, I think I finally managed to get Insomnia fixed. I don't know what the hell happened to it. I thought I had fixed it the week before but then the problem turned out bigger than I thought. -_-; To all those who are a part of Insomnia, let me know if there are still glitches.

What's up with me and internet related glitches??

Pictures on the Wall Doujinshi?!

Wahh...I'm so giddy right now, because someone just made my day at my HYD "Pictures on the Wall" fanfic's Yahoo ML. Apparently a reader of the fic wants to make a "doujinshi" comic out of my fic and is asking for my permission about it. *bubbles over and dies* I can't believe someone wants to do that! T_T I'm already in awe with the amount of fanart I get- so hearing this shocks me even more.

And of course she's also asking if I've abandoned the fic. ;_; I really should try to update it again. I get comments asking about it every so often- which amazes me because I figured most people had forgotten about it by now. But ahh, happy is me right now. *runs off to read my own fic so that I can try to update it*

ETA: Eee, I haven't replied to the girl yet but apparently she's already drawn a fanart of Nao. Lookie here! Chello, are you reading this?!! You know how excited I am right? T_T

HYD live action & Being Gaara's Girlfriend!

Ahh...so I finally got to watch Hana Yori Dango's live action drama episode 1. (Thanks Chello!!) First off, I gotta say that Inoue Mao really looks like a "real" Makino- meaning her face. She looks like how Makino is drawn. xD I still don't like the guys who play Akira and Soujirou. Their "hotness" level is so not up to par- especially Soujirou. >_> I actually like Matsumoto Jun as Doumyouji- gotta love that curly hair..lol. And I'm glad they made him seem really mean right now, because it's more true to the manga. I was a bit iffy about Oguri Shun as Rui at first...but I liked him more towards the end of the episode. (Yea, I can hear Chello bubbling in the background right now...xD) And okay...am I the only one who thinks Shizuka is just so...not? She looks a bit like a transvestite. =_=;

Overall, I loved the portrayal of the school- that was done rather well...like the Eitoku cafe was how I pictured it would be- and it was rather similar to how the anime's cafe looked like too. They've gotta ease up on the make-up on the F4 though. I had to smirk when they first did the character intro when the F4 first appeared because everything was so airsprayed and they were all made up. xD On the other hand, the dango shop was a lot fancier than I thought it would be. All in all, I wonder how they're fitting everything into 9 episodes. *_* Wahh...I so need to update the HYD Project site asap. GOAL: This weekend, update! :p

And a side note about my little Halloween party with my students. ^^; I ended up not dressing up as Gaara, Rock Lee, or whoever else. BUT I did dress up as a Naruto character- except I made this character up. I was lacking the right costume or props to be any one character from Naruto...so I dressed up as a ninja from the Sand country who is supposed to be Gaara's girlfriend. xD I wore this fishnet top that all them ninjas in Naruto wear...decked out in all black. Had thick red eyeliner around my eyes, super dark lipstick...and a Sand country headband around my neck. And finally...I had the word "HATE" written in Kanji on my forehead to match with Gaara's "LOVE" character. xD; My students couldn't stop laughing at that...so I guess it worked out in the end. ^^

Cosplaying Naruto...someone

So the school moved up the Halloween party to tomorrow since it's Friday and they have midterms next week. Which means I have to hurry up and decide which Naruto character I'm going to cosplay...seeing how I've already promised my students that I'd be a "Naruto" team with a few of them. ^^;;

Who should I be? ;_; Gaara? But...I don't think I'd make a good Gaara. xD;

And ooh...yesterday on the bus, I saw the NANA trailer on TV. The movie is airing in the theaters on Nov. 3rd! I can't wait. ;_;

Sesshoumaru's Mother

Okay...help. >_> Is anyone on my FL still keeping up with Inuyasha? I've lost track on the manga some time ago so I really don't know what's been happening to the story (or the fandom) lately. (Yes, bad webmistress) So can someone tell me what is the deal with Sesshoumaru's mother coming from the moon? Where did that come from?! Yesterday, I got another email about it- which is about the 10th one these past few months. Normally, I get so many crap emails every single day about some weirdo "fact" about Sesshoumaru that I barely pay any attention to them. But this one seems persistent. It's making me wonder if it has an ounce of incredulous truth (in a cringing way). =_=

Here's a paste of the part about his mother:

"When i looked around.. i was surprised to find out that sesshomaru's mother remained mystery. I knew about sesshomaru's mother about a year ago..i'll attach a file of image of sesshomaru's mother. Her name is Luna and i am not sure if she is a demon. She is referred to more like.. godess. Anyways.. she is godess of the moon. Inuyasha's father met her when he was trying to find a good place to hide the sword of destruction (the sword that came out in the 3rd movie) Inuyasha's father long heard about the moon where it is far away from the Westen lands. However, when he found the entry to the moon a godess comes to him(sess's mother) and informs him that non of the living from the mortal realm could enter the place. Of course the godess refused to place such disastrous sword in her realm. I am not sure how they came to be.... but sess was born from her. There is rumor that the 5th movie will be based on the birth secrets of sess."

Eh. And just so you know, the picture she attached was a fairly poor fanart. :p I'm convinced that this whole thing came from a fanfiction or something. But I've been getting these types of emails a lot that I'm beginning to wonder if there's some truth to it. Kill me if it is.

The scar is still there.
02. Two years later, the same best friend stabbed me on the left side of my face with a pencil (purposely). Thankfully, that scar is only faintly visible. She is no longer my best friend.
03. Nao, the main character of my HYD fanfic Pictures on the Wall, and a lot of the stuff that happened in her life is quite heavily based on me and my HS life.
04. Téa is really my name and not just an online alias. It's pronounced like Tay-ah.
05. I was a Creative Art Director at the last company I worked at. Now I'm a teacher, which is ironic because I've always been known to hate children. ^^;
06. I've dyed my hair every single color imaginable except for green.
07. I've been a Tarot reader for almost 15 years now. I qualify for class "Certified Tarot Consultant" at the Tarot Certification Board of America. One of my dreams is to make and publish my own deck one day. Like that would ever happen though.
08. I started making websites to escape the RL crap that was happening at the time.
09. I started making icons and textures to escape layout making because I was creating too many sites for my own good and had to stop. And now I can't stop making icons and textures. ^^;
10. I smoke. :p
11. I have an L6, which is an extra bone in my spinal cord that could technically be called a tail. I was told that only 6% of human beings have L6...and that cats have them.
12. The shortest my hair has ever been (not as a baby!) is about 1-2 inches long.
13. I left New York and moved to Taiwan about 2-3 years ago because my dad passed away. Taiwan is where I am now and I hate my life here.
14. I was in the Sistine Chapel staring at Michelangelo's amazing painting on the ceiling and remember none of it. Likewise, I was standing right in front of the Mona Lisa and remember none of that. But I remembered throwing up at the London Bridge. I was very young.
15. I once did a commercial for Modess sanitary napkins for teens when I was in 8th grade. -_-;
16. I've seen "ghosts" before. I'm so afraid of them, especially flying ones. ;_;
19. The picture on the layout of my Lavender site is actually me though I usually don't own up to that fact. ^^;
20. I'm a bit scared of rollercoasters.
Naruto Toys...and Students

So I was walking home today when I passed by a row of toy vending machines and noticed that one of them was all Naruto stuff. You should've seen me peering at it from all angles looking for Shikamaru. The kids around it was looking at me funny, obviously thinking what this "grown-up" lady was doing, trying to wrestle them away from the machine. I threw in my change and voila...no Shikamaru. Not even my next favorites, Gaara, Kakashi, Rock Lee. Instead I got one of my least favorites: Sakura. -_-;; So now I have a Sakura keychain. I'm thinking about giving it to one of my students on Monday. ^^;

Speaking of my students, a lot of them are apparently Naruto fans. It's hilarious because the other day during lunch break- I overheard a group of about 5 boys (3 of which are my students) talking about something. I thought I heard them say something "Sharingan" but I wasn't sure. So I started to observe them discreetly when one of them suddenly slapped his hands together and did a whole bunch of seal formations (I think he was trying to be Kakashi). I seriously almost started laughing when I saw yet another boy cross his arms and said in a "deep" voice: "I am Gaara of the Sand" By now, all the boys were getting excited and they looked like they were fighting to imitate some character or another. THEN one boy pretended to be Gai-sensei and did this super "flamboyant" pose. That did it for me. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to start crying. They actually thought they were in trouble though, and I had to assure them that they did nothing wrong. In fact, I encouraged them to continue. xD;;

Ever since that day, they somehow realized that not only do I know Naruto...I also watch/read Naruto. They're always talking to me about Naruto or showing me some weird seals they've been practicing. It's so funny. xD On top of that, I think I've become a "cool" teacher in their eyes. Haha!

All that aside: These are so cute! I love the Rock Lee one. The Kiba one's cute too. I wish the Shikamaru one looked better though- I'm not sure I like the shade of green on his shirt. :p

Annoying site visitors...

It's never been a big secret that I especially get annoyed with a lot of my Sesshoumaru shrine's visitors. But lately, it's like I have a personal PMS against them or something. So let's see...in the recent weeks, I've gotten these sorts of emails:

1. I need to give my Sesshoumaru site to them...because they can do so much better with it than me since I haven't been updating for a while now.

2. Complaints about me not re-opening the Sesshoumaru Fanfictions archive even though I've been taking donations for the last year.

3. Insisting that Sesshoumaru's mother is from the moon, that Sesshoumaru is exactly two thousand billions years old or whatever, that Sesshoumaru has a long lost sister, that Sesshoumaru definitely loves Kagura, that Sesshoumaru's ex-girlfriend was Sara, etc. etc. The list goes on.

4. Demanding that I put up more pictures and complaining that I have so little pictures (when I have a large gallery with hundreds of pictures as it is).

Really, let's forget about all the hotlinkers, theft, and retarded emails that I normally already deal with...but lately, I have these to add on to my annoyance. So now I feel the need to vent. First off, if they think they can do so much better than me with the site...then go ahead and make one from scratch. Demanding that I need to give the site to them is seriously just screwed up. That's almost an oxymoron of its own. And then the ongoing complaints about me not re-opening the Sesshoumaru Fanfictions archive...well freaking hells, as if I haven't already explained it enough that I was told by my host that it needed a dedicated server to run, which mind you is hell of expensive. And getting donations for the past year? I haven't gotten any donations at all...only complaints that it's down. So yes...I'm pissed about an accusation like that- as if I'm taking money and keeping it in my pocket or something.

Then there's the whole insisting a whole bunch of ridiculous stuff to be true and then accusing me of not having an accurate site with enough info because I didn't write that Sesshoumaru's ex-girlfriend was Sara. Why the hell would I put that in when it's NOT TRUE? Or saying that I was incorrect in saying that Sesshoumaru doesn't have a love interest because hell...they think Sesshoumaru is in love with Kagura. GAH! >_<

*ends rant and explodes*

Nerd, Geek, or Dork?

I got this meme from ecatalina and it cracked me up so I just had to satisfy my curiosity on how much of a nerd, geek, or dork I am. xD

Modern, Cool Nerd
56 % Nerd, 56% Geek, 0% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.

Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one up there, winning the million bucks)!

Congratulations!

Also, you might want to check out some of my other tests if you're interested in any of the following:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Professional Wrestling

Love & Sexuality

America/Politics

Thanks Again! -- THE NERD?
Layout Change @ Colorfilter

I finally decided to give S2 a try at my icon journal, colorfilter. *evil tag temptation* I wish I had a paid account so that I could do more with it. I hope the layout turned out okay in all browsers and monitors though. I find that things always look different on my Mac. :\ I'm still unsure about the banner and especially the colors, etc...so comments and suggestions very welcome please. ^_^

I also started asking for donations there...something I'm still feeling a bit squirmy about. I hate asking for donations and such. But I'm much too broke right now- and with the hosting renewal fees coming up in less than a month, I'm pretty pooped. Out of curiosity, all of you guys who have your own domain/site- which hosting company/plan/price do you go with? I haven't looked around at all, but now that I have to pay again soon...I'm a bit curious about who you all use?

On a side note, someone finally applied for NANA's Ichinose Takumi fanlisting! I saw it on the upcoming list and thought "it's about time!" I've been so tempted to apply for it because I really like his character and seriously can't understand why so many people hate him. I'm half sad that I didn't apply for it...but I knew I didn't have time so I just hope that whoever got it will take lovely care of it. ^_^

EDIT: Anyone know if there's anything I can do to fix the calendar on the sidebar of colorfilter? It just shows August 2010 because I have a backdated post to sticky on the top. I thought backdated posts shouldn't reflect on the calendar like that? -_-

Harry Potter Series vs. Naruto

So I was thinking about Harry Potter and HBP the other day...and while my sister and I were watching some old episodes of Naruto, we got to talking about how there were similarities between the two series (mainly between Orochimaru and Voldemort). I found it kind of interesting and wondered if it has crossed anyone else's mind? ^^

-Both had twisted tendencies ever since they were young, experimenting with all sorts of dark and forbidden seals/techniques/spells. And of course both of them craved power like no other.

-Both had special relations with snakes. Orochimaru could summon snakes and Voldemort could talk to snakes and also use them to attack. Both of their appearances even resemble a snake.

-Both had an obsession with immortality- going through a whole lot of forbidden techniques to achieve their immortality. Both of their souls can also "transport" to another container or body. Voldemort could live through another person as a parasite and Orochimaru could take over another person's body as well. And they both have "containers"...whether it's in an object or another human.

-Both mock love and have none themselves whatsoever.

-Orochimaru wanted to be a figure (Hokage) of sorts in Konoha and Voldemort also wanted to be a figure (Professor of DADA) of sorts in Hogwarts.

-Both had the ability to call upon corpses and use them to attack as seen with Orochimaru and the previous Hokage during the attack on Konoha...and Voldemort with his use of inferi.

-Both use a mark of sorts to connect themselves to their followers- like Orochimaru with the seals he placed on his followers and Sasuke while Voldemort marks his followers with the Dark Mark.

I know there were several other similarities between the two and also the series themselves...but I seem to have forgotten a lot of them. But yea...I just found it quite amusing and had to share. ^^;

Gravitation Love

Wah. I'm officially a fan of Gravitation. Yea, I have never watched the anime until last night even though I've always had plenty of opportunities to do so. *gasp* Shame on me, really. After devouring the series in one sitting, I have to say I can't believe it took me this long to get around to it. I actually have ecatalina to thank for pushing my internal decision to finally watch it. I always knew she was a big fan of it and so I thought "What the hell...let's give this one a try." when I was deciding on what to watch last night. ^^;

I didn't expect it to be so funny- I stayed up watching it in the middle of the night so I had to muffle my laughter at the hilarious parts. It's got all the nice combination- it has depth, it's emotional, funny, cute, and all warmy. ;_; I shall be putting this series into my to-buy list. ^^ Gravitation has definitely shot up the list in the anime that surprised me the most in terms of value/enjoyment.

So now my big question is WHERE can I find the Gravition OAV for download?! Anyone know? I must watch it now. T_T I can't seem to find it anywhere, and I'm not very good at locating torrents/downloads, etc. -_-

Now I'm all itching to make Gravitation icons. I haven't had the major urge to make any particular anime icons lately...until now again that is. ^^;

And here ends my little Gravitation love spew. :p

Fire in the Building

//cross-posted to my blog

Geh, I just had the biggest scare in a while. I'm putting it behind a cut since it's a bit long.

I think it was around 4:30am or so when there was a short spurt of fire alarm in the building, which sent me and my mom running out of our rooms to check what the hell was going on. We called security downstairs and he wasn't sure what was going on either; he said another guard who was on duty with him was checking it out. 10 minutes passed and it seemed like the alarm was a glitch so we went back to sleep.

Then came the big momma alarm some several minutes later...which was five times louder than the first spurt. And it came with an automated message that kept repeating- telling everyone in the building to evacuate immediately because there's a serious fire. And so my 5am adventure begins. I ran to wake my sister up (she was entirely oblivious to everything that had happened so far) and she wasn't responding very well so I shouted "THERE'S A FIRE IN THE FREAKING BUILDING! GET UP!" Yea, that got her attention.

Of course after that, it was like chaos in the house while we tried to change into something that's at least decent. My mom kept screaming "HURRY, it says SERIOUS FIRE!!" while she ran around trying to take important crap out of her hiding places. xD;; I, on the other hand, was completely upset that I had to leave my newly-bought computer behind since I couldn't very well lug that (yes, I bought a new computer!! :D). So I grabbed the next most important thing- my wallet, cell phone, and passport. My sister was so frazzled and half-asleep that she grabbed her bag and her phone case...without the actual phone because she forgot she had it charging earlier...lol.

We walked down six flight of stairs...the entire time I kept wondering if we'd encounter fire on the way and if we did, what would I do? But we didn't even know what the situation was and where the fire was so all we could do was kept walking. Thank God no fire on the way down. I was really surprised to see several fire trucks out on the street the moment we reached ground level- I didn't think they'd get here that fast. Freaking hells, there were even reporters who kept taking pictures. I tried to hide so many times but I think they've caught me in a few. I better not see myself in the news or the paper tomorrow. -_-;;

We waited downstairs the building until they had deemed it safe to come back up. Very tiring, very annoying, and completely nerve-filled because we still didn't know what the hell was going on. There were just a whole lot of shouts and running- guess no one had time to stop and tell anyone anything so we just stood there like dummies. It wasn't until about an hour later did we finally learn that the fire was on the 12th floor of the front building, caused by some electrical problem. The fire completely fried the elevator too- and it stunk really bad. :p But they finally got it under control and allowed most people to go back to their homes while they finished up.

And so now here I am back home. I'm wide awake after all that adrenaline rush. And I'm just so relieved our building didn't burn down. I seriously don't know what I'd do if it did. Though it's possible that I may laugh like a maniac. With how bad things have been going for the past few years...it wouldn't have been a huge surprise to add "home burned down" to it. But it didn't burn down. So I'll treat that as a good sign. Maybe our luck is picking up after all. >_>

If there was a fire at your place, what would you grab first? I was seriously the most worried about my computer- which is quite pathetic when you think about it. ^^;;

Alas, after faithfully being with me everywhere I go and every step of the way- my notebook has failed me last week. *sobs* I'm still not sure what's wrong with it. It was completely fine when I had shut the lid and put it to sleep...then an hour later, I woke the computer but the screen remained pitch black. From what I was able to see, the HD may still be fine so I'm going to try to save it. I think it's more a logic board problem but we'll see. I'm so upset about it though- I've got everything in there. Dammit!

I need your advice about purchasing a computer. I've narrowed down my choices to 2 that I can try to afford with money I don't have.

Option 1: Faster great computer with the most awesome widescreen...but the computer has been known to have some issues (it's quite new). Some people were reporting that there faulty parts in some series. You do get warranty so you can get them fixed/replaced or a whole new computer if something should go wrong in within 3 years.

Option 2: A more inferior computer to the previous option- though still decent. It's just more meant to be for personal use so hardcore graphics work will definitely be slower than Option 1. There's less room for upgrading options as well so I'm guessing that if I get this computer, I'll outgrow it sooner. But it's also cheaper than the first option.

Basically, it really comes down to this: A computer that's better in every way except that I won't know if I might get a faulty one and end up dealing with problems of replacing/fixing parts or a computer that's more stable but not as good in general (though still better than the one that has recently died on me). Help!! >_<

Sigh, I feel so handicapped without my computer. I can't update any of my websites, visit any sites, do any of my normal routine stuff on the computer, etc. -_- I'm on a public computer right now so that's the only time I get to check my mail and what nots. I was planning to make some changes to Insomnia too, especially since I haven't had the chance to post there lately. Now that'll all have to wait too. Sigh sigh sigh!

On a side note, I was on the bus today when the TV suddenly aired the preview for Initial D's live action movie that's starring Jay Chou, Edison Chen, Jordan Chan among others. It looks a lot better than I thought it'd be. Apparently, it'll be released on June 24th. While I'm not fond of the cast, I still find myself a bit excited. It's Initial D after all! :D
